In Memory of Bill Sherman:
William C. Sherman
Stanford, MT - William C. Sherman, 62, of Stanford, a Navy veteran and retired civil servant, died of a heart attack Thursday, February 20, 2003, at a friend's home south of Geyser, MT.
Graveside services with military honors were held at 2 PM Monday, February 24, 2003, at Fort Harrison Cemetery, Helena, MT.
Bill was very instrumental in the formation of Montana State Houndsmen Association many years ago. He also was active in the organization of Montana Federation of Houndsmen. He has also served as Montana's UKC representative for many years.
He was instrumental in getting many young people interested in hounds and either gave or found a hound for many of them to get started in this sport and love of the hounds.
Survivors include daughters Melissa Rose of Salt Lake City, Toni Hackett of Geyser and Jessie Sherman of Billings; a son, William C Sherman Jr. of Salt Lake City; sisters Roberta Roehl and Nancy Jurkewitz of Michigan; brothers Nelson Sherman and Tracy Sherman of Michigan and Robert J. Sherman Jr. and Tom Sherman of Tennessee; and eight grandchildren.
